Our first

I was on half days from work because it was getting close and I was a little stressed. My sister came over to visit me, we did that a lot since we lived across the street from one another. We sat in the front room as I told her how crazy I was going just sitting around waiting for something to really happen. I say "really happen" because we had been fooled before. I stood up to walk her to the door and there was a small wet spot on the couch, about the size of a half dollar. I looked at her and she looked at me and said "Dre it's time! I think your water broke" Whatever, I thought it was time 3 hospital visits ago and I was not about to cry wolf again. To make her feel better I called my doctor and he said I better pay him a visit at the office. Once again I got in the car, my little beat up Toyota 4-runner and drove to St.Marks. My doctor did a little paper test and sure enough I was leaking water. Good thing his office is at the hospital. I walked over to the women's center and called Shane to come on up...again. Well-the 4th times a charm. I got all hooked up and waited some more. After about 4 hours, they broke my water all the way and I went from a 3 to a 10 in 40 minutes. Not my best 40 minutes ever since there was no one to drug me up. Dang those two girls having twins at the same time! At the last possible minute I got the hook up from the fastest anesthesiologist ever. Believe me, I am ever so grateful to of had no feeling during the pushing. I had my share of feeling for the day. About 15 minutes after that, there he was. The most beautiful, mushed up, purple little thing I had ever seen. It's a boy! Our first baby, our first son, our first what the heck do we do now, our first dream come true. Happy 8th Birthday beautiful boy. You will always be our first.

We did a quick little 15 minute shoot the morning of his actual birthday. Yes people, before school. Thank goodness he likes to get up early. I am hoping to do more this week.
