The color yellow just makes you feel better...don't ya think?? I love yellow, my kiddos love yellow, andit just is such a happy color. This picture makes me happy so I just had to enter it on i heart faces :) This is my little monkey...and this is SO her! Enjoy!!
My take on editing
Now, I am no edit master....far from it. I do get some emails and I have close friends who would like to learn a little more, just for personal use. Well, here is my big secret. I have no secrets!! Haha. If you want to know what I did to a picture, just ask. I am happy to share anything you want to know. Lightroom or Photoshop? I am a 99% Lightroom girl. I very rarely use photoshop and really just use it to head swap in group photos when someones eyes are closed. Everything on my blog is all Lightroom. That program is genius and much easier to use than photoshop, in my opinion. You can't go wrong for $100.00! I don't do real heavy editing, especially for clients. I have worked real hard on my exposure and composition so that my SOOC (straight out of camera) images don't need a lot. I love to make the color pop, so I up the contrast and blacks to achieve this. Don't get me wrong, I'll have my fun and really work over a photo. Just not all photos. I can't spend 20 minutes a photo, it wouldn't be good for my business. Below I am going to show 5 before and after photos. I hope this lets you in to my editing world a little :)
SOOC-taken with my 85mm 1.8 at f/4.0, ISO 500, 1/500 sec.
SOOC- taken with 85 mm 1.8 at f/1.8, ISO 500, 1/800 sec.
SOOC- taken with my 50mm 1.4 at f/2.0, ISO 800, 1/250 sec.
SOOC- taken with 50mm 1.4 at f/2.5, ISO 160, 1/500 sec.
I really wanted the red to pop in this photo, so I used the adjustment brush for that. I also straightened this photo just slightly.
SOOC- taken with my 85mm 1.8 at f2.0, ISO 200, 1/640 sec.
This is a good example of my heavy edit. The photo was a little dark so I brightened it, heavy color pop, brightened her eyes, and cropped it in slightly.

Max and Wilson
I knew them in high school. With their adorable curly hair and sweet smiles, they had all the girls attention. Sure they were only 3 and 1 but they were still the cutest boys in school. Jeanette, their mom, was my high school dance teacher and still is to the lucky Judge Memorial classes. Yes, this dates how old I REALLY am...but I don't care...haha. Jeanette was pregnant with Max my freshman year of high school so our class knew them both from the the very beginning. What a full circle experience to be taking Max's senior pictures. I still sort of can't believe it! Especially since Jeanette looks exactly the same. The sweet little boys I knew running around the dance studio are now so grown up and one is off into the Ivy League college world. Max had a very difficult decision of Notre Dame or University of Penn. He decided on University of Penn and his family couldn't be prouder, that is until he earned the recognition of co-valedictorian of his senior class. Jeanette, I can't even imagine the tears of joy that will be shed on graduation day. Thank you so much for having me. Congratulations Max!!

Besties!
The andrea K studio is now open! I am so excited to have a studio to offer my clients, especially with our crazy Utah weather. I had such a blast trying out the studio with these little cuties. They are besties and their moms wanted to have a picture of them together. We of course had to get some of them alone too. We really had fun playing dress up with them. They were such good girls and put up with us :) Thank you for a very fun day Tiff and Alisha!!
Warning! This post contains some serious cuteness!! :)

Ashlyn, Ellie, & Andrew
Remember that last snow storm we had? Well, that is the day we were supposed to take these photos. We postponed it a week and got perfect weather!! Thank goodness! These little kiddos were just oozing cuteness from every little pour they have and I was one happy girl :) I just LOVE my job!! I am so happy moms and dads jumped in a few because they are just the sweetest families and I am so glad I got to meet them. It was so much fun to spend the evening with you. Thank you for having me!!
Little Andrew only stuck around to do a photo for grandma.
We tried everything, sweet little Ellie was not going to smile today. She is so stinkin' cute!!
Yummy grass!
Ashlyn is so adorable!
Oh Ellie, you make me smile.
This is when we asked Ashlyn about her boyfriend...haha! I love asking kids that question. Her reaction is the second picture.
The last shot of the day. My favorite!
